Position Description:
Diet Technician THIRA Health - Bellevue, WA Job Type: Full-time, part-time; including weekends, on-site Required Education: Associate’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field Required Experience: 1-year minimum THIRA Health seeks a Diet Technician with excellent communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills. The ideal candidate must be organized, proactive, flexible, a team player, and have experience working in, or expressed interest in pursuing a healthcare work environment with direct mental health patient interaction.  The Diet Tech will be responsible for serving as primary support for the Dietetic & Medical Team, including but not limited to food ordering, kitchen inventory, facilitation of patient educational groups, patient meal/snack supervision, patient compliance with meal plans, taking patient vitals, etc. The Diet Tech is a part of the Medical Department and reports to the Registered Dietitian Coordinator. Job Duties: Facilitate all grocery shopping, inventory, and maintain a well-stocked kitchen Assist in creation of program menus that will optimize physical and mental health of patients Provide meal and snack supervision; direct patients to maintain prescribed meal plans as needed  Model and encourage patients to engage in healthy, balanced eating per RD team philosophy  Observe patient food intake and report progress to RD, therapists, and/or MD as relevant  Assist with and/or conduct nutrition-based educational groups on various relevant topics  Carry out basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, peeling and plating meal items serve ware  Supervise patients during non-therapeutic activities as needed  Take patient vitals when directed and/or as needed  Who We Are: THIRA Health offers transformative mental health treatment programs for women and girls age 13-65. THIRA’s Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Kathryn Korslund, transitioned to THIRA after spending her career as research scientist at UW’s Behavioral Research & Therapy Clinics (BRTC) and working alongside Dr. Marsha Linehan on further developing and evaluating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Our Chief Finance & Operations Officer, David Krekel-Zoppi, came to THIRA after nearly a decade at Virginia Mason Medical Center and more recently having managed business and operations with Dr. Mehri Moore at The Moore Center. THIRA’s Medical Director, Dr. Tuesday Burns, brings a diverse array of clinical and academic experiences with specialty in issues related to women’s health, hormones, PMDD, menopause, and gender transitions. Our Clinical Director, Sarah Skoterro, provides expertise in DBT, addictions, integrated care systems & family processes to serve our patients and support our clinical team.
