Details:
Join us for a free Webinar on Tuesday, May 18th! From health reform to the First Lady’s Let’s Move initiative tackling childhood obesity to the impending release of the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, nutrition and health are top issues among consumers and policymakers alike. As the picture continues to unfold, recent research from the International Food Information Council (IFIC) shows that Americans are primed for actionable advice about food and health. Like never before, nutrition and food professionals have been identified as critical to consumers’ success in building healthful diets. Nutrition scientists, as represented by the American Dietetic Association (ADA), and food scientists, as represented by the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), each have unique roles to play that can provide distinct value to Americans that are looking to improve their health; there is also an opportunity to work together on many of today’s hottest food and nutrition issues.
Although the process of setting recommendations and regulations is yet to ensue, during this presentation, you will gain insights into current projects and priorities for ADA as they relate to health reform as well as other national nutrition initiatives. This Web cast will also help enhance your current work through a deeper understanding of Americans’ attitudes toward foods that can promote health while providing insights on new collaborative opportunities for food and nutrition professionals.
