Nutrition First Regional Breastfeeding Education Seminar Agenda

Registration Fee: $145; $125 Nutrition First Members. Includes beverage breaks and lunch. For your convenience, Nutrition First offers a package rate of membership & registration for $145

Audience: all staff providing breastfeeding encouragement and lactation support within a clinical and community health care setting. This activity qualifies for 6.5 Professional Continuing Education units.

Core Competencies:
•Provides a research based framework for utilizing biological design to nurture a mother's and infants capacity to breastfeed.
•Assesses the nutritional status of pregnant and breastfeeding women and evidenced based guidelines on food allergies and sensitivities in childhood.
•Discuss the role of technology in the healthcare provider’s support of lactation.

Objectives:
•Describe how Biological Nurturing can facilitate breastfeeding success.
•Determine nutritional needs of pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women to achieve optimal health.
•Define the needs of late preterm infants in lactation support.
•Examine the technology and social media applications for lactation education and support.
