UW Medical Center - Montlake Patient Nutrition has an outstanding opportunity for a PATIENT FOOD SERVICES MANAGER.

WORK SCHEDULE
100% FTE
Mondays - Fridays

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Responsible for directing and managing all aspects of the Food and Nutrition department including patient services, room service, par stock, sanitation and retail services
Provides leadership, makes decisions, sets goals to assure the department meets or exceeds service standards and regulatory guidelines; organizes, coordinates and implements all administrative, retail, and clinical operations
Establishes standards for consistent quality of service and product and ensures that work is completed according to the established standards, policies and procedures

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the day-to-day operations of the department, including clinical nutrition, patient services, food preparation, and retail services
Effectively delegates, manages change, sets expectations and goals, makes decisions and solves problems and models fairness and respect
Develops goals and objectives in support of organizational mission and maintains policies and procedures
Identifies quality benchmarks, assesses departmental performance and designs improvement plans, and assures compliance with regulations and rules
Interviews and selects staff, hires, and promotes, evaluates staff performance and competency
Coaches/disciplines/discharges to improve individual and departmental performance, motivates and develops competent staff, facilitates continuous learning and development and monitors staff retention and satisfaction
Develops budget and monitors/controls expenses to fit budget expectations
Monitors trends in healthcare industry and adapts to changes and new developments.
Develops and maintains a departmental quality plan. Monitors and continuously improves service, product, processes and procedures
Participates with Director in strategic goal-setting and development of new services; develops tactical project plans and implements the selected strategic goals and objectives

Minimum Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition/Food Service Management/Dietetics, 4 years or more years of experience in healthcare nutrition or healthcare leadership.
SERVSAFE certification is required (may be obtained within 6 months of hire)
Washington State Food worker’s permit is required; Serv-Safe certification; RD or RDN required along with membership in Academy of Nutrition Dietetics; WA State DOH Certification. Certification and Registered status are required.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements
