Harborview - Food and Nutrition Services has an outstanding opportunity for a CLINICAL NUTRITION MANAGER.

WORK SCHEDULE
100% FTE, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Mondays - Fridays

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Develop and evaluate the effectiveness of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, systems and methods of operations, quality improvement and standards for clinical nutritional care

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
Interviews, selects, hires and develops training programs for new dietitians
Schedules, conducts annual performance evaluations, evaluates competency of assigned staff and implements corrective actions up to and including termination as needed for these dietitians who practice outside the department
Participate in the development and monitoring of the Clinical Nutrition Services budget
Oversees inpatient clinical nutrition research endeavors including identifying areas to focus research, design of protocols, obtaining IRB Human Subjects approval for research consistent with UW Medicine pillar goals and policies and procedures, and implementation and monitoring of studies
Independently develops, implements, assures adherence to and updates of all standards of care for clinical nutrition care, policies and procedures to assure practice of evidence-based medicine, operational efficiencies and assure compliance with The Joint Commission, Department of Health and other regulatory agencies
Develops, implements, monitors and acts upon all quality assurance and organizational improvement activities related to clinical nutrition
Assures compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), Department of Health (DOH) and other regulatory agencies standards
Collaborates with retail, patient services and production teams to maximize nutrition-related department wellness initiatives including publications on the intranet and employee-focused endeavors
Coordinates clinical dietetics by reviewing and reestablishing expectations for clinical nutrition care with medical center medical directors as needed.
Maintains current knowledge in clinical practices, CQI, new technology and other issues that pertain to clinical nutrition management
Provide leadership at local, state and national levels to establish clinical nutrition standards of care for patients including participation in professional organization, lecturing and publishing. Consult with other allied health care professionals outside UW Medicine to advise on nutrition-related complex patient care issues

Minimum Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Master's degree in food and/or nutrition, or related field AND completion of an approved Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) Education Program, PLUS five years of experience as a clinician in a critical and acute care setting at the Dietitian II level or equivalent. Clinical Nutrition Management experience also required.
Registration with Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Certification with the State of Washington required.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration
